Military press entails the use of a weighted barbell pushed from the chest up and down by the hands. It is called a “press” because pressure is put on the chest muscles to strengthen the triceps, pectorals, and deltoids.
The squat exercise also uses weighted barbells. It entails the use of the legs bent on the hips and knees. The squat is known as the best exercise because many body builders have deemed this form of exercise very effective in trimming and toning the calves, lower back, hamstrings, and quadriceps. The deadlift exercise might be the simplest weightlifting exercise you might see, but when not done properly, may cause permanent injury or worsen existing ones. When executed properly, it will make the muscles of your abdomen, back, legs, hip and forearms more prominent and shapely.
The bench press is a weightlifting exercise wherein the person is made to lie down on a bench. The weights are lowered to the chest level and then push it up until the arm is stretched straight and the elbows are locked. It is essential in building the muscles in the chest.
